SaaS development services: where are you starting from?

A new SaaS product, from idea to paying users.

You know the problem and who has it. Our SaaS MVP development starts by testing the idea with real users, then we design it in Figma and build the first version your first customers pay for. See our MVP development service.

Your spreadsheet or internal tool, turned into a SaaS product.

Other businesses want the tool you built for yourself. We keep the logic that makes it work, move your existing data across, and rebuild it so each customer gets their own secure account. 40Love started as a tennis club's FileMaker system.

An AI-built SaaS prototype, made ready for paying customers.

Built your first version with Lovable, Bolt or Bubble? We fix it, secure it and host it, and only rebuild what needs it. See no-code and AI-built app to custom development.

What a SaaS product needs that a simple app doesn't.

A SaaS product has to work for many customers at once, take payments every month and stay up. We plan for these from the first sprint, so you don't pay to rebuild them later.

01

Accounts, teams and roles

We build multi-tenant SaaS, so each customer sees only their own data, and their admins decide who on their team can do what. We test that each customer's data stays private before launch.

02

Subscriptions and billing

Plans, free trials, upgrades, downgrades and failed payments run through the payment provider you choose, and change what each customer can use without your team stepping in.

03

Onboarding that gets users to value

The first session decides whether a trial user comes back. We design it and test it with real users.

04

Security and UK GDPR

Role-based access, encrypted data and clear records of who did what. We handle personal data under UK GDPR.

05

Analytics and admin tools

See who signs up, which features they use and who's at risk of leaving, with an admin area for your own team.

06

AI features, where your users need them

Assistants that answer your customers' questions, search across their documents or write reports from their data, with running costs tracked for each customer as usage grows.

07

Hosting that grows with you

UK servers with backups and monitoring, or your own cloud infrastructure.

How we build your SaaS product.

1

Discovery and research

Before your first call, we research your market and competitors. On the call, we agree the one problem the first version must solve, and you get a fixed, milestone-based proposal within five working days. Once you go ahead, our UX team interviews your target users before any screen is designed.

2

UX design and a clickable prototype

Our designer maps every screen and designs it in Figma. You click through the prototype and ask for changes, and you approve it before we write any code. Every screen is designed by a person, not generated by AI.

3

Engineering in sprints

You get access to the project board from day one. Short builds come with a daily update, and longer builds with several sprints get a weekly update and a working demo at the end of every sprint. Every line of code is reviewed before it's merged, and our QA engineer tests each sprint before you see it.

4

Launch

We launch on UK servers or your own cloud infrastructure, with monitoring switched on from day one.

Your proposal sets the timeline for your product. As a guide, the 40Love club management platform, a complex multi-tenant SaaS product with several user roles, took three months from first research to launch, including UX research, design, development, QA and launch.

Your SaaS development team

Every SaaS project gets its own team. The product designer and engineers on your project work only on your product, backed by our QA and DevOps engineers. They're employed by Exline Labs, not freelancers, and the same people take your product from the first sprint to launch.

Our working day overlaps UK and European mornings, and we shift our hours when a project needs it.

What does SaaS development cost?

The price depends on how many types of user your product has, how much account and billing logic it needs, whether AI features are in scope, and whether you need web, mobile or both.

After your discovery call, you get a fixed-price proposal with a price for each milestone, within five working days. You approve each milestone before the next one begins.

Your code, your product

The code, designs and documentation are yours, and everything transfers to you on completion. If you prefer, your code lives in a repository and cloud account in your own name from day one. We sign an NDA before you share anything sensitive, and a data processing agreement before we handle your customers' data.

After launch, the same team stays with your product.

Every launch includes 30 days of hypercare: if anything breaks in the first 30 days, we fix it free of charge.

Most SaaS clients then keep their project team on a monthly retainer. The people who built your product host it, fix it and ship what your customers ask for next. When your roadmap outgrows the retainer, add dedicated developers who join your standups and sprints, starting with a one-month trial.

Frequently asked questions.

What does a SaaS development company do?

It designs, builds and maintains software that customers pay for by subscription. As a SaaS product development company, Exline Labs covers user research, UX design, SaaS app development for web and mobile, hosting and support, with dedicated team members for your project.

How much does it cost to build a SaaS product in the UK?

Our SaaS MVPs start from £5,000 for a focused first version, £15,000 for a multi-feature product and £30,000 for a complex platform. You get a fixed, milestone-based proposal before any work starts.

How long does it take to build a SaaS MVP?

Most focused MVPs go live within weeks, because we use AI tools to speed up the routine parts of the build. Complex SaaS platforms take longer: the 40Love club management platform, a multi-tenant product with several user roles, took three months from first research to launch. Your proposal confirms the timeline before work starts.

Do you build multi-tenant SaaS?

Yes. Each customer's data is kept separate, and their admins manage their own team, roles and permissions.

Can you turn our spreadsheet or internal tool into a SaaS product?

Yes. We map how your tool works today, keep the logic your business relies on, move your existing data across, and rebuild it so each customer has their own secure account. 40Love started as a tennis club's FileMaker system.

Can you add AI features to our SaaS product?

Yes. We build assistants, search, document processing, reporting and automation into SaaS products, designed around what your users need, with usage and running costs kept under control.

Why not build it ourselves with Lovable or another AI tool?

You can build a first version that way, and we use the same tools every day. What they don't give you is user research, a team that's accountable for the code, security and compliance checks before launch, and someone to fix things when they break.

Can you take over a SaaS product another team or an AI tool built?

Yes. We start with a fixed-fee assessment from £750, fix what can be fixed and only rebuild the parts that need it.

We're not technical. How do we know the work is good?

You click through the prototype before any code is written, see working demos at the end of every sprint, and our QA engineer tests every release. The code and documentation are yours, so any developer you trust can review them.

Who owns the code?

You do. The code, designs and documentation are yours, and everything transfers to you on completion. If you prefer, your code lives in a repository and cloud account in your own name from day one.

Where will our SaaS product be hosted?

If we host it, on UK servers with backups and monitoring, and we handle your data under UK GDPR. If you'd rather run it on your own cloud infrastructure, we'll set it up and deploy it there.

What technology do you build SaaS products with?

Usually React and Next.js for the web app, Node.js or Python for the back end, and Flutter for mobile apps, chosen to fit your product.
